Full Truckload (FTL) Transport — Spain to UK, Germany & Europe

Need a dedicated trailer between Spain and the UK, Germany, France or Belgium? That’s the bulk of what Transvolando does. We’ve been running FTL across these corridors since 2016 — curtainsider, refrigerated, megatrailer, flatbed — for B2B clients who can’t afford a delivery to go wrong.

We don’t run fixed weekly schedules. Trucks leave most days of the week, depending on what our clients need and where the cargo is heading. CMR cover is in every quote as standard, not an upsell. Incident rate stays below 1% year after year. And if anything shifts mid-route, you’ll hear from us before the consignee notices.

When FTL Makes More Sense Than Groupage

FTL means the trailer is yours. No shared space, no extra stops for someone else’s pallets, no waiting for a consolidation slot to fill up. So when does it beat groupage on price and reliability?

  • Your cargo hits around 33 euro pallets, or you’re near the 20,000 kg mark
  • The deadline is tight — 24 to 48 hours to France, 2 to 3 days to Germany
  • Cargo is fragile, valuable, or just doesn’t share trailer space well
  • You need the trailer sealed at origin and only opened on delivery
  • You’re moving stands, equipment or kit for a trade fair on a fixed date

If none of those ring true, groupage is usually cheaper — you’d pay only for the space you use. Send us the dimensions and we’ll tell you which fits. We don’t make more from sticking you in an FTL when groupage would do.

FTL Routes from Spain to Europe — What We Run Most

We don’t have fixed scheduled departures — we run trucks based on what our clients are shipping that week. In practice, that means most days of the week there’s something heading to one of the main corridors:

  • Spain → United Kingdom — 3 to 4 days door-to-door via Calais or the Channel Tunnel
  • Spain → Germany — 2 to 3 days direct (Madrid → Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich)
  • Spain → France — 24 to 48 hours depending on the region
  • Spain → Belgium & Netherlands — 2 to 3 days
  • Spain → Portugal — next day on most routes

Everything international comes with CMR papers and customs paperwork handled by us — T1, EUR1, post-Brexit declarations for UK loads. You send the commercial invoice and packing list; we deal with the rest.

Transvolando customized transport solution

Every FTL quote includes the trailer (curtainsider, refrigerated, flatbed or megatrailer up to 25.25 m — whichever suits the cargo), live tracking on the shipment, CMR cover already built in, and a contact who actually picks up the phone. Communication is proactive: we call you when something changes mid-route, not the other way around.

What’s not in the quote: surprise fees at delivery, last-minute price hikes when fuel jumps that week, paperwork charges for documents we already said we’d handle. The price you accept is the price you pay.

The actual numbers

Standard articulated trailer: up to 24,000 kg payload, 13.6 m long, 2.7 m interior height, 2.4 m wide. Capacity is 33 euro pallets (120 × 80 cm) on a single layer — more if cargo can be double-stacked.

For larger volumes we run megatrailers up to 25.25 m. For temperature-sensitive cargo, refrigerated trailers (cold-chain confirmation required at booking). For oversized loads that exceed standard dimensions, low-loaders and extendable flatbeds — see our heavy machinery transport page for the abnormal load process.

Send us total weight, dimensions and stacking. We’ll match the right trailer before quoting.

Why UK & European Shippers Use Us for FTL from Spain

The short version: incident rate below 1%, CMR cover on every international route as standard, and one person handling your load from quote to delivery. No handoffs, no being passed between departments when something needs sorting.

The longer version: Transvolando is a freight forwarder, not a haulier. We don’t own trucks — we operate a network of vetted carriers we’ve worked with since the company was founded in Madrid in 2016. That means we pick the right carrier for the corridor and the cargo, not whoever happens to be available at our depot. UK and German clients stay with us because we speak English, communicate proactively, and the numbers back it up. A meaningful share of our work moves stands, materials and equipment for trade fairs — Hannover, Bauma, IFA, MWC, FITUR — where deadlines are non-negotiable and there’s no margin for error.

Frequently Asked Questions — FTL Transport from Spain

When you have got serious volume, a tight deadline, fragile or high-value cargo, or you just want fewer hands touching your goods. If any of those four ring true, FTL is the right call.

Depends on the cargo and where it is going. Curtainsiders most of the time, but we switch to refrigerated, flatbed or specialist trailers when needed. Tell us what you are shipping and we will match the right vehicle.

Yes. Dedicated truck means far fewer hands on the cargo. It goes in, the trailer is sealed, and it stays sealed until the destination. That is a big part of why our incident rate sits below 1%.

Standard articulated trailer takes up to 24,000 kg payload. The actual limit depends on axle loads and how the weight is spread across the floor. Send us the total weight and how it is loaded and we will confirm it fits in one trip.

It complicates things. No dock means we either bring a tail-lift trailer or you need forklifts and pallet trucks at both ends. Either works — just flag it when you book. Too many shipments end up sitting on the road because nobody mentioned the missing dock.

The CMR (consignment note) is the main one across Europe. For UK shipments post-Brexit you will also need T1, EUR1 and customs declarations. Our team handles all of that — you just send us the commercial invoice and packing list.

33 euro pallets (120 × 80 cm) in a single layer, in a 13.6 m standard trailer. You can fit more if the cargo can be double-stacked — depends entirely on what you are shipping.
