Special transport services are all those that in the load carry an excess in weight or measures with respect to those that are admitted as maximum according to the vehicle regulations.

For this reason, a fleet and specific equipment capable of guaranteeing the integrity of both the merchandise, the vehicle and the material goods that surround it are needed.

There are many models depending on the dimensions and their specific characteristics, which can be grouped into two specific types of trucks:

Flatbed Trucks

Platform or gondola trucks are vehicles that carry a special type of trailer for special road transport for goods of great weight and dimensions. They are vehicles widely used to transport agricultural or construction machinery.

The trailers of these trucks have different dimensions than the traditional ones, and have a specific reinforcement at the base to be able to support the load without damaging the axle.

Depending on the dimensions and maximum load they can carry, we can find different models.

Crane trucks are those that have a crane built into their chassis to facilitate the loading and unloading of merchandise.

They are the ones used when the mobilization of a type of merchandise is required that, due to its dimensions or weight, cannot be handled in any other way. As in the previous case, depending on the needs of the load, there are different crane trucks.

Other equipment used in special transport

To see the security in the vehicle, it is necessary to carry out different manipulations of the merchandise, both in loading and unloading and in the adaptation of the interior of the truck.

In this way, we are guaranteeing the security of the merchandise with total security so as not to cause human or material damage to said elements.

Heavy lifting cranes

When crane trucks are not used but it is necessary to handle a bulky merchandise, external cranes are used to lift the load and deposit it in the convenient place. Depending on the weight and dimensions of the merchandise, one model or another of crane will be necessary.

Typically, the tonnage they can handle is much higher than conventional cranes.

Forklifts and other special handling equipment

To successfully complete all kinds of displacements and mobilizations of the heavy loads, there are special trucks that can transport it from the place where they are to the loading area.

Given the characteristics of the merchandise, these equipments are usually reinforced at their base, being able to support large tonnages in a small area.
